Who is Coach Dell?

Hi,

I’m Coach Dell, and I’m thrilled to be running the Wheeled Sports Club at Ib Stock Place School!

My journey with skateboarding began 23 years ago when I was 14. Growing up, I didn’t connect with team sports, but skateboarding offered me the independence and personal challenge I needed. It became my escape and a space where I could truly be myself.

What I discovered along the way is that while we’re all on our own individual paths, the desire to push ourselves and improve is something we share.

This passion led me to teaching skateboarding 8 years ago, and four years ago, I founded Usk8. Even without traditional academic qualifications, I followed what I loved and now make a living doing it.

That’s the spirit I want to bring to this club – a supportive environment where everyone can fit in, challenge themselves and grow, both on their board or scooter and by pursuing their passions.

What you need to know

About the Wheeled Sports Club

This isn’t your typical lesson – it’s all about fun and freedom on wheels! Think of it as having access to your own personal skatepark right here at Ib Stock Place School. We bring the equipment from Usk8, so all you need to bring is your enthusiasm.

While the main goal is to have a blast, Coach Dell will be on-site to keep an eye on things, offer tips to help you improve your skills, and even set some fun challenges if you’re up for it.

It’s a club where you can ride at your own pace, try new things, and enjoy the company of others who love skateboarding and scootering. Come join us for some rolling good times!

Coach Dell and Usk8 have been a part of the Ib Stock Place School community since 2022, running both after-school clubs and PE lessons. We’re excited to continue bringing our passion for wheeled sports to the students!

How does the club work?

Every Tuesday during term time, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Coach Dell will be on-site to lead the Wheeled Sports Club!

Other things

We're all about fun on wheels, and we also care about safety! While we provide protection gear for club members to use, it's not a mandatory requirement. When you sign up your child, we'll include a short questionnaire to understand if they would benefit from using some or all of the protective gear we have available. This helps us ensure everyone stays safe while having a blast. We'll also ask for your consent regarding photos and videos being taken during the club.

Because skateboarding and scootering involve some inherent risks, we won't be running the club on the playground if the weather is wet or icy – we want to avoid any slips and slides that aren't intentional! If the weather isn't on our side, we've got a fun backup plan. We'll move indoors to watch exciting extreme sports footage, get creative with sticker design for decorating boards, and even learn some basic skateboard maintenance. So, rain or shine, your child will have an engaging and safe experience with the Wheeled Sports Club!

Please ensure your child wears comfortable clothing and brings a water bottle.
