These risks are present for all participants and volunteers. By booking, you voluntarily assume all such risks, known and unknown, associated with your participation.
2. Code of Conduct and Instructions: You agree to abide by the Usk8 Code of Conduct (available [Insert where Code of Conduct can be found – e.g., on our website / at the facility]) and to obey all verbal and written instructions from Usk8 staff and representatives. You agree to leave the skatepark or designated activity area immediately if requested to do so by Usk8 staff.

The parent/guardian confirms they have the authority to agree to these terms on behalf of the minor.

Our weekend availability can be found on our website here!
We currently run a priority follow up system. This means if you are a current student with a lesson booked for example on Saturday at 10am, once your lesson is complete you can book the following Saturday at 10am before the slot becomes available for the public.
If you do not request a follow up lesson for the same time slot by the end of the day your lesson was ran, it will then be placed on our website on the next Monday.
We understand this means there is less availability for new lessons. We are looking to move into group lessons to accommodate the increased interest.
We reset our lessons every Monday around 8.30-9am, most slots will reset, outside of a couple that are reserved with the priority system.
This is then first come first serve, but on occasion we do get cancellations and slots can become available during the week. So it is worth checking back every now and then.
Half term lessons become available about 10 days before their dates, we usually release half of our lessons first, this allows us to have dates to fall back on if the weather turns poor.
We run lessons within Kingsfield skatepark, please read our skatepark page to find out all information on times, ages, parking, rules and the membership card for the skatepark.
We currently run the following style of lesson
We run lessons for ages 5 and up, as we feel this is the best age where children can focus and take in the information provided.
Skateboarding is an activate sport with risks of falling, you want to wear some older clothes and flat soled trainers.
Please bring a bottle of drink with you to the park.
We lend out all equipment for the skatepark, please let us know in advance if you need anything.
Skateboard, helmet, elbow, knees and wrist guards.
Depending on the condition we have different cancellation rules.
Weather related:
If the weather impacts the lesson we will try postpone your lesson if we have availability after your slot, or reschedule you to another date.
If you are in a lesson and it rains, depending on how much of a lesson that has been completed you may have a discount towards another lesson. If enough of the lesson has been completed, this unfortunately means no rescheduled/discount.
More information can be found on our terms page
If you are refused entry to the skatepark for lack of a membership card, we do not refund or reschedule in this circumstance. We have all the information of how to get your card on our skatepark page. You can purchase a card at the gate, but this delay to the start of your lesson is not reimbursed.
On the rare occasion that a group lesson is cancelled from our side (e.g., due to weather or instructor illness), we will reach out to offer a space in the following weekend’s session.
Response Deadline: To keep our group numbers organized, we require a confirmation from you. If we do not hear back from you by Sunday evening, you will be removed from the upcoming session list and automatically issued a Usk8 Voucher for the value of the lesson.
Voucher Validity: This voucher will be valid for 12 months, allowing you to re-book any future group session that fits your schedule.
Late arrival to lessons:
We run our weekend lessons on a time schedule as we have a lot of demand. If you’re late to a lesson, we cannot extend your lesson to make up for lost time. If the instructor is late, we will then extend to cover your full hour.
Please leave earlier than what Google Maps suggests, as the area around the skatepark can become busy with traffic and parking is limited.
No show:
We have a 48 hour cancellation period for our lessons. This gives us enough time to fill in that slot with someone else.
If we are not given a heads up for cancellation, your lesson will be charged at the full rate. We do apologies in advance if this happens to you.
On rare occasions lessons will be cancelled from our side. We will give you a heads up notice, this may be due to an injury or the instructor being unwell.

We currently have one instructor running lessons within Kingsfield skatepark. We have supporting instructors for our school events.
You will find Coach Dell being the instructor for your lesson.
Coach Dell has been skateboarding for 24 years, teaching for 8 years, and has taught thousands of students in schools, events and private settings.

We do sell a host of skateboard related equipment. Please ask our instructor what we have on offer.
You can also find online skateshops such as Routeone, Rollersnakes, Skatehut.
Or the local skateshop Natter Jacks in Kingsfield.
We have helped students ride long boards and surfskates.
We currently only have one surfskate board that we can lend out. You will need to share with the instructor for your lesson.
We do not have any longboards to lend out at this stage.
Our beginner level is an introduction to skateboarding, this will include a lot of basic skateboarding and how to ride flat banks, beginners lessons will include some level two skills, so if you do not manage to book a level 2 class, you will find yourself learning in the beginner group even if you have more experience than the rest of the group.
Level 2 lessons are focused more on independent skateboarding, while tackling the more advanced ramps, such as quarter pipes.
Our Beginner class is designed to build a strong foundation for your skateboarding journey, with a focus on getting comfortable and confident on ramps. You’ll learn the essential skills to ride the smaller ramp sections independently. This includes mastering fundamental techniques like:
Getting comfortable balancing and rolling on your skateboard.
Learning to push and glide with control.
Safely stopping your board.
Specifically practicing how to ride smaller ramps on your own.
Learning foundational ramp tricks such as fakie kickturns and dropping in on banks.
By joining the Beginner classes, you’ll start to develop a good solid understanding and control of your skateboard, setting you on the path to progress to more challenging terrain.
Level 2 builds upon the skills learned in the Beginner class, focusing on developing more advanced ramp riding techniques and independence. You’ll start to tackle quarter pipes and bigger ramps. A key aspect of Level 2 is learning to execute parts of tricks independently. For example, you might work on confidently dropping into a ramp from a specific corner on your own, while receiving guidance on executing a stall once you reach the ramp. This level aims to foster your ability to approach and ride more complex features with greater self-reliance.
Absolutely! Even if you’re at a Level 2 skill level, the Beginner class can still be beneficial. It provides a great opportunity to refine your fundamental skills on the smaller ramps and ensure you have a solid grasp of techniques like fakie kickturns and dropping in on banks. It’s also a less pressured environment to practice these basics and can be particularly helpful if you’ve missed out on a Level 2 spot and still want to get some valuable skate time in.
